SYRACUSE — A panel of seven judges spent nearly an hour Thursday morning questioning lawyers regarding whether or not authorities in Cayuga and Senenca counties are legally allowed to pursue federal tax evasion charges against the Cayuga Indian Nation of New York.

SYRACUSE — The state Court of Appeals, the highest court in New York, has just wrapped up proceedings related to the cigarette tax dispute between the Cayuga Indian Nation of New York and Cayuga and Seneca counties.
