i want a restaurant in nyc that is different from anything else. I mean, something that is kinda campy or kitschy. Either participating in the cooking, like fondue, or dinner shows, something like that. even simliar to the japanese places that cook at your table. any great creative ideas?

    *Dip is a fondue place on 3rd Avenue.
    *Woo Chon on West 36th Street is Korean bbq, so every table has a gas-fired grill so you can cook your food at the table.
    *Jekyll and Hyde Restaurant
    *Lucky Cheng’s–all waitresses are in drag and they all perform throughout the night.
    *Casa La Femme–Egyptian restaurant with gauzy white tents and belly dancers. Fun night out.
    *There is also a Benihana’s in the city, which is a hibachi place that cooks the food right at your table.

    Enjoy!

    Manga e Bevi on Ninth Avenue and 53rd Street is a lot of fun. There is always music playing, everyone gets a tambourine, the waiters are charming and they dance with you, people dance on the tables. Food’s not bad, either.

    Lips in the Village at 2 Bank Street has great drag shows – lots of fun every night

    Cook your own food at your table at a Korean BBQ – Kang Suh on 32nd and Broadway;

    Cook your own food at your table at Happy Shabu Shabu in Chinatown at 54 Canal Street

    Ellen’s Stardust Diner on Broadway and 52nd Street – very talented waitstaff sings through your dinner – lots of fun

    If you’ve had your tastebuds surgically removed, try Jeckyll & Hyde – fun show, but the food is awful!
