NEW HAVEN — The centuries-old grandfather clocks may have stopped chiming, but their rich history remains ingrained in their gears. The classic tables and upscale chairs share aisles with other time-stamped treasures, all tucked away in the basement of a Yale building not quite in the shadow of its famous museums, eagerly waiting to be shown.
